• If you love the sound of kids laughing and sharing God’s love, we’ve got an awesome volunteer opportunity for you! We’re seeking adult volunteers, college age and up, to help us show kids how much Jesus loves them! Interested? Read on!

Our adult volunteers are super important and help ensure everything runs smoothly. From Station Leaders to registration to preparing snacks for the kids, there are several opportunities available to serve at either the St. Augustine Parish or Free Christian Church location. Many of our volunteer positions have flexible time requirements, so don’t let those calendar invites hold you back!

Here’s a breakdown of our volunteer positions:

    • Station Leader: This volunteer is responsible for connecting the Bible Point of the Day with fun activities provided at your assigned station. Several crews, composed of five kids and two to three youth volunteers, attend stations simultaneously. It is the role of the Station Leader to make sure kids have fun, explain the station’s activity to crews, and make sure everyone rotates to their next station in a timely manner. The Station Leader is supported by youth volunteers, Station Assistants, who help reset stations between crews and ensure kids understand the activities being done. This role requires Station Leaders to arrive 15 minutes early each day of VBS to prepare for the day’s lesson and make sure everything is set up for the kids to arrive. Please note, curriculum is provided in advance - no lesson planning required!

    • Registration: This volunteer is the first smiling face that kids see as they arrive for VBS! It is the role of this individual to check in kids before they join their crews and answer any questions parents/guardians may have about drop off/pick up. Registration volunteers do not need to commit to the entire week of VBS, so even if you only have a few free days, you can still sign up to volunteer! This role does not need to prepare any materials in advance.

    • Childcare Helper: This individual is responsible for taking care of volunteers’ kids (ages 0-3). We understand that childcare can prevent adults from volunteering for VBS. This role helps parents devote time to serving, without having to worry about the wellbeing of their little ones!

Adult volunteers can serve at either the St. Augustine Parish or Free Christian Church location for VBS. Please note that the preschool site is at St. Augustine Parish and the elementary site is at Free Christian Church. A breakdown of volunteer opportunities/activities for each location are listed below:

    That’s it for now!

  • Teens! Are you ready to embark on a wild adventure? We’re seeking youth volunteers from seventh to twelfth grade to help us show kids how much Jesus loves them! If you’re looking for an awesome summer experience, read on!

Our youth volunteers can participate in two different tracks: crews or stations. Both are super important to make sure VBS runs smoothly, but you can decide which one sounds like the right fit for you! Please note that crews are broken down into crew leaders and assistant crew leaders.

But, what do these two tracks do? We’re glad you asked!

    • Crew Leader: This volunteer oversees a group of kids participating in VBS. There are five kids in each crew and it’s the responsibility of the Crew Leader to make sure the kids get to each station on time during VBS. It is also their job to guide their kids during activities, facilitate discussions within their crew, and overall have fun! Crew Leaders do not need to prepare any materials for VBS. Crew Leaders MUST be able to volunteer for the entire week. This role may volunteer at either the Early Childhood VBS program at St. Augustine Parish OR at the Elementary VBS program at Free Christian Church.

    • Assistant Crew Leader: This volunteer helps support the Crew Leader and makes sure the five kids in their crew are having fun, stay safe, and know that they are loved! This is an awesome role that does not need to prepare any materials for VBS. Each crew has one or two Assistant Crew Leaders. Please note that Assistant Crew Leaders MUST be able to volunteer for the entire week. This role may volunteer at either the Early Childhood VBS program at St. Augustine Parish OR at the Elementary VBS program at Free Christian Church.

    • Station Assistant: This volunteer is not a member of a crew. Instead, this person helps teach kids about God and the Bible by supporting a Station Leader and helping prepare for each rotation of crews that come in. VBS consists of several stations, from crafts to outdoor games to reenacting Bible stories. It is the role of the Station Assistant to make sure kids understand the lessons being taught, help if kids become confused, and overall bring the fun!

Still here? Awesome! Before you click on the link below to sign up, check out these quick things to note:

    • Crew Leaders, Assistant Crew Leaders, and Station Assistants must arrive 30 minutes early (8:15 a.m. on Monday and 8:30 Tuesday-Friday) every day of VBS to get ready for the day. This means attending the youth volunteer meeting each morning before welcoming the kids.
